Italy's beauty is boundless, and choosing the most beautiful views in the country is an almost impossible challenge. Every FAI property offers wonderful scenes to photograph. Here are a few suggestions:

Sicily – Giardino della Kolymbethra

Giardino della Kolymbethra is a true paradise in the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, an extraordinary place to visit and photograph, capturing the colors, flavors and scents of Sicily. Wonderful views to capture on camera include the paths through the citrus grove, the almond and olive grove, and the area rich in typical Mediterranean scrubland plants, or the Feaci Aqueducts, a roughly 185-meter walk underground.

Near Rome – Villa Gregoriana

Villa Gregoriana in Tivoli, amid Roman temples, waterfalls and trails leading to scenic viewpoints and natural caves, is a unique place to experience. Well worth capturing in photo and video are the Great Waterfall, about 120 meters high — the second tallest in Italy after the Marmore Falls — and the Grotto of Neptune, located right beneath the Temple of the Sibyl and reachable via an easy path cut into the rock face.

Liguria – Abbazia di San Fruttuoso

Abbazia di San Fruttuoso is a corner of paradise on the Ligurian Sea in Camogli. It's a stunning sight whether approached by boat or on foot along the trails of Portofino Park. The monastery, nestled in a small cove, blends seamlessly into the natural landscape, creating a truly remarkable visual continuity. Guests can even stay overnight in the charming residence, once a traditional fisherman's house, to catch the dawn and sunset light that makes photographs even more romantic.

Liguria – Villa Rezzola

The garden of Villa Rezzola in Lerici is a classic English-style garden of the eastern Riviera: a rare and happy blend of the spontaneous lushness of the Italian Mediterranean landscape — woods and cultivated terraces — with the variety and refinement of imported, exotic and tropical species. The result is an original, carefully composed garden, where more formal Italian-style spaces — lawns, hedges, flowerbeds and avenues, including a 150-meter wisteria pergola — alternate with wilder, informal stretches, where paths wind through seemingly untamed woodland, revealing nymphaeums, staircases and monumental belvederes framing glimpses of the landscape.

Bergamo – Palazzo Moroni

In all season, you can capture true explosions of color as flowers bloom in the meticulously kept garden of Palazzo Moroni in Bergamo. The interior offers plenty to discover too, from furnished rooms to a rich art collection and a grand ceremonial staircase. In the vast kitchen garden, you can also organize a picnic and take home a photo of lunch surrounded by greenery and nature.

Trentino – Castello di Avio

Castello di Avio is one of the oldest and most evocative castles in Trentino, one of the most striking and visually dramatic destinations in the region. Driving through the Adige Valley at night, from Verona to Trento, you come upon the castle illuminated and suspended amid green mountains. The view over the Val Lagarina, cut through by the Adige river, is spectacular — especially at sunset.

Lake Lugano – Villa Fogazzaro Roi

Villa Fogazzaro Roi is a charming, intimate 19th-century bourgeois residence overlooking the Italian shore of Lake Lugano. The hanging Italian-style garden, rich with flowering hedges and shrubs, is a wonderful photographic subject, along with the small terrace known as "Piccolo Mondo Antico", (the novel by Antonio Fogazzaro, most commonly translated into English as The Little World of the Past) which offers a unique view over the whole of Valsolda. The surrounding area is also home to many picturesque lakeside villages, perfect for nature lovers and scenic walks.

Near Turin – Castello e Parco di Masino

The Castle offers a true journey through time, with sumptuous halls, rooms and interiors that tell a glorious past worth capturing forever. The vast park, meanwhile, offers incredible photo opportunities, including an 18th-century maze — one of the largest in Italy — perfect for exploring. After the visit and the walk, stop for a picnic on the lawn or a snack at the panoramic café, enjoying local specialties against the exceptional backdrop of the Canavese landscape.
