At 30 km from Garda’s lake and not far from the Trento’s province, the Castle of Avio is a majestic circuit of towers and crenelated walls in a fortress complex conceived for the strategic control of the valley of the River Adige, but also a lush garden and a treasure trove of valuable, vibrant "Giotto-esque" pictorial cycles dedicated to love and war. Open from February to December, you can visit it on your own or through a guided tour and enjoy a typical lunch or wine tasting at the end of the visit.
The Castle of Avio will be open to the public with the following opening hours:
From Friday 23rd February to Sunday 29th September
Wednesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Last admission recommended at 5 p.m.)
From Wednesday 2nd October to Sunday 17th November
Wednesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Last admission recommended at 4 p.m.)

Guided tours
By car
A22 motorway (“Autostrada del Brennero”), exit at the Ala-Avio toll gate, between Verona and Trento, then follow the signs for “Castello di Avio”.
By train
Verona - Brennero line, Avio station (around 2.5 km away).
By bus
From Trento, get off at the Sabbionara d'Avio stop (around 1 km away).
Guided tours for groups are available, as are special visits. Prior booking is required.

There is a car park 450 m from the castle and a bus park in the town of Sabbionara (around 800 m from the castle).

Visitors with disabilities and, when applicable, their caregiver have free access, in accordance with M.D. 507/97 updated to M.D. 13/2019 and L.104/92.
A reduced ticket is required in case of guided tours, events and other additional services.
Guide dogs and therapy dogs with a training certificate for assistance to persons with disabilities are allowed, always on a leash.
For persons with reduced mobility: difficult access to the property due to its historical nature.
