Have you ever dreamed of spending the night in a monastery, a Renaissance villa, or an 18th-century palace? Some FAI properties are not only extraordinary places to visit—they also offer the unique opportunity to stay overnight and experience their magic in a more intimate and unforgettable way.

Torre e Casa Campatelli in San Gimignano

Casa Campatelli is situated in the heart of San Gimignano, one of Italy’s oldest and most iconic medieval towns, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Located southwest of Florence, in the Province of Siena, this 18th-century residence incorporates a medieval tower and offers a fascinating journey through the history of the town.

The house provides a glimpse into a typical 19th- and early 20th-century bourgeois home of San Gimignano, featuring original furnishings, family heirlooms, and an impressive private art collection.

In addition to daytime visits, you can stay overnight in this historic residence, enjoying the charm of traditional Tuscan style.

Your room is located on the top floor, and outside of public visiting hours, you’ll have exclusive access to the shared spaces—making your stay a truly special and private experience in the heart of San Gimignano.

Villa dei Vescovi in the Euganean Hills

In the Veneto region, just 20 km from Padua, you can experience the timeless charm of Villa dei Vescovi—a refined Renaissance villa nestled among the vineyards of the Euganean Hills. Open to visitors year-round, the villa hosts a variety of activities for both adults and children.

By night, the villa transforms into an exclusive retreat where guests can soak in the serene atmosphere of this 16th-century summer residence—once a haven for artists and intellectuals in search of peace and inspiration.

Two elegant apartments are available for overnight stays: La Mansarda del Vigneto and La Mansarda del Frutteto. These flats are located in the attic of the villa and are accessed through a private entrance, offering both comfort and privacy.

Abbazia di San Fruttuoso in Camogli

Discover one of the most enchanting spots in Liguria: the Abbazia di San Fruttuoso, an ancient monastery nestled by the sea between Camogli and Portofino. Simply arriving at the abbey is a breathtaking experience, but staying overnight there is truly unique. The abbey can be reached either by boat or via a moderately challenging hike through the Portofino Regional Park.

La Casa del Mar is a charming fisherman’s house perched above the abbey’s rooftops. This cozy retreat features a sea-view terrace and a small garden overlooking the sparkling Mediterranean.

While modest in size and character, Casa del Mar’s true distinction lies in its extraordinary setting—rich in history, architecture, and natural beauty. In the evening, as the last boats ferry visitors back to Camogli, you will find yourself the sole inhabitant. Surrounded by the silence of nature, you can unwind to the soothing sound of waves gently lapping the abbey’s beach.
