This Tripadvisor award recognises the quality of the visitor experience at FAI properties and the value of the Foundation's daily work.
The Travellers' Choice Award is based exclusively on reviews and ratings left by Tripadvisor users over the last 12 months: a recognition that comes 'from the bottom up', which makes it even more significant and perfectly in line with the vision of FAI, which has always considered listening to the expectations of citizens – the primary beneficiaries of its work – to be central to its mission and promotes their active participation, as emblematically demonstrated by the Italian Places I Love survey.
In 2024, the properties open to the public welcomed 1,127,530 visitors, a figure that is constantly growing, reflecting the ever-increasing interest in Italy's cultural and landscape heritage and in the FAI's offering. But numbers are not the only objective; quality is just as important. This is why the Foundation has been investing in listening to its visitors for years: in 2024, over 50,000 people (including 17,000 foreigners) were involved in completing an evaluation questionnaire after their visit. The level of satisfaction was very high, with an average score of 4.7 out of 5. The welcome from staff (4.8) and online ticket purchases (4.7) were particularly appreciated, confirming the commitment of FAI to ensuring quality service at every stage of the experience.
"We are honoured by this recognition," says Marco Di Luccio, Director of Properties, "because it rewards not only the quality of the visitor experience, but also the deeper meaning of our work: to restore voice and dignity to extraordinary places, transforming them into living spaces capable of engaging, exciting and sharing knowledge.
For FAI, managing and enhancing a property does not simply mean opening it to the public in impeccable condition, but interpreting its soul and recounting it through cultural, educational and participatory initiatives capable of raising awareness, fostering a sense of belonging and thus educating people to respect and care for it. In this sense, our properties contribute to generating a concrete social impact by strengthening ties with communities, promoting inclusion and accessibility, and raising awareness of the value of the common good.
Visiting a FAI property is not just an aesthetic or tourist experience," concludes Di Luccio, "but a conscious gesture of support for our mission: to contribute, together, to the protection and transmission of Italy's cultural and landscape heritage."
