In Varese, not far from the railway station and only 50 minutes away from Milan, Villa Panza is a 18th century villa surrounded by a magnificent Italian garden that hosts one of the foremost collections of contemporary art and international exhibitions. Dan Flavin, James Turrel and Robert Irwin are only three of the many artists at Villa and Collezione Panza. It’s not only a must-see for art lovers, but a really unique and unexpected place for wonderful pictures and for a day off from Milan.

Opening hours

Villa Panza is open to the public all year round from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.Closed on Mondays.Ticket Office closes at 5:15 p.m.

On december 13th 2023 the Villa ground floor will be closed to the public for a private event. Thanks for your understanding.

How to get here

By car
A8 Highway from Milan to Varese city center. Follow the signposts to Villa Panza.

By train
Frequent train rides to Varese from Milan (Porta Garibaldi and Cadorna railway stations), Como, Lugano and Malpensa Airport. For train times, visit the website of the service operator, Trenord.

From the train station in Varese to the Villa, you can take bus route A showing Biumo Superiore as the final destination. Villa Panza is at the last stop. Journey time: approx. 10 minutes.

Guided Tours are available for groups of up to a maximum of 20 people.

Accessibility

Visitors with disabilities and, when applicable, their caregiver have free access, in accordance with M.D. 507/97 updated to M.D. 13/2019 and L.104/92.

A reduced ticket is required in case of guided tours, events and other additional services.

Dogs are always welcome in the Park, but must be kept on a leash at all times to ensure the protection and preservation of the interiors of Villa Panza and its collections, only guide dogs and assistance dogs with certificates for accompanying people with disabilities are allowed inside. 

The Villa and the Park are accessible to persons with reduced mobility or in wheelchairs.

Access mode:
• The Villa has reserved parking spaces. It is recommended to accompany the visitor with reduced mobility or in a wheelchair to the main door in front of the ticket office before parking the car in the Villa parking lot
• The Villa is equipped with a lift with a cabin in which a wheelchair can easily access with space in front of the door for easy access to all floors
• The Villa has reserved toilets on the ground floor before the entrance and on the first floor on the south side
• There are seats in some of the exhibition halls
• The avenues of the Park are mostly flat and gravel.

Good to know

Villa e Collezione Panza is accessible to families with children. Baby carriers are available to borrow free of charge.
Our staff will be more than happy to show you where baby strollers can be parked.
Baby changing station and bottle warming facility are also available.
