For two hundred years, Batteria militare Talmone has been guarding the tract of sea that separates the island of Spargi from Sardinia, in a landscape composed of immense granite rocks, Mediterranean flora and blue water.

Opening hours

The Talmone Artillery Battery can be visited every day from May to September, from 11am to 5pm.

How to get there

By car

From Arzachena - Olbia: take the SS 125 highway heading towards Palau.
From Santa Teresa di Gallura - Tempio: take the SS 133 highway heading towards Palau.

Then continue on the SS 133 highway, heading towards Palau. At the second roundabout, continue towards Punta Sardegna-Porto Rafael. At the junction for Punta Sardegna-Porto Rafael, continue on the left towards Costa Serena. On reaching Costa Serena, park and continue on foot on the path on the right, signposted as leading to the “Batteria Talmone”. It takes around 45 minutes along a slightly uneven dirt-track path to reach the site.


Visitors with disabilities and, when applicable, their caregiver have free access, in accordance with M.D. 507/97 updated to M.D. 13/2019 and L.104/92.

A reduced ticket is required in case of guided tours, events and other additional services.

For persons with reduced mobility: difficult access to the property.

We recommend that you wear comfortable shoes.

Dogs are always welcome but must be kept on a leash at all times.
